2021-2022 – State authority – Stockholm

Compilation of storage and other operational needs regarding a new logistics center. Dimensioning and design of concept solution with detailed example of new central warehouse with layout, material flows, processes and warehouse racking. 3D modeling for clear visualization of solution proposals. Development of a rough budget estimate for investment.

The assignment was preceded by an extensive security check. Sim Logistics may not state which authority the assignment concerned.

2021-2022 – Thule Group – Huta Szklana – Poland

Analysis, calculation and enumeration of freight flows and storage needs to 3 dimensioning scenario years. Dimensioning and design of concept solution with warehouse expansion, Clad rack ASRS, placement of new buildings on site and warehouse layout with material flows, processes, automation equipment and warehouse furnishings. 3D modeling with some animation for clear visualization of solution proposals. Development of budget estimates for investment. Thule Group uses the results as part of the procurement documentation for sharp quotes and then a final decision on implementation.

2021 – Mimab – Gothenburg

Investigation of issues in the customer's container flows to and from their terminals through detailed in-depth analyzes of business data. Suggestions and recommendations for measures based on the analysis's conclusions.

Calculation of storage needs and compilation of storage capacity in the customer's two most important terminals. Comparison and analysis of estimated storage needs and existing layouts' storage capacity. Dimensioning and design of new terminal layouts with better matching between needs and capacity.

2021 – Nimbus Group – Lugnås

Needs calculation of forecasted suitable number of storage places in pallet racks and shelves for different load sizes. The results were then used in the design of layout proposals for newly purchased neighboring properties. Dimensioning, design and visualization of layout in 3D modeling program. Comparison and evaluation of the property's possible storage capacity versus estimated storage needs.

2021 – Occlutech – Helsingborg

Mapping and analysis of material flows through storage and assembly in the customer's existing facility. Needs calculation of forecasted suitable number of storage places in pallet racks and shelves for different load sizes. The results were then used in the design of a new layout in the existing building with an extended operating area. Dimensioning, design and visualization of layout in 3D modeling program.

2020 – NMC Cellplast – Kinnahult/Malmö

Mapping, analysis and visualization of process and material flows from raw material stocks via production to finished goods stocks.

2020 – Fresh – Växjö

Mapping and analysis of material flows through storage and production in the customer's existing facility and visualization of these. Needs calculation of the appropriate number of places in pallet racks and shelves for different load sizes. The results were then used when designing the layout of a new building to which the customer decided to move his business. Design and visualization of layout in 3D modeling software.

2020 – CH Square – Ulricehamn

Rough design of warehouse layout and 3D visualization of layout and warehouse building to support the customer in their sales process of a number of new warehouse projects.

2020 – Network Logistics – Malmö 

Detailed analysis of storage needs and material flows prior to a planned merger of two warehouses and relocation to a new location. Needs calculation of number of boxes in Autostore solution. Dimensioning and design of layout with material flows, processes and equipment. 3D visualization of solution proposals. Type of goods; Beauty products in cartons and on pallets, shop fittings, flammable goods.

Magnus worked as a sub-consultant for Network Logistics. The end customer is the Nordic region's leading distributor in make-up, fragrance, skin and hair care.

2019–2020 – Tarkett – Ronneby 

Participation in the development of Tarkett 4.0 - the customer's vision for future efficient internal logistics at their facility in Ronneby. Data and needs analysis, mapping of material flows, dimensioning and design of new raw-, intermediate- and finished goods warehouses. Development of solution concepts with material flows, handling- and automation equipment, racking, 3D model, layout plans and rough cost picture. Type of goods; Jumbo rolls, 2–4 m long floor rolls, floor accessories on pallets.

2019–2020 – DS Smith Packaging – Värnamo 

Preliminary study prior to possible procurement of WMS (Warehouse Management System) for installation in the customer's 8 warehouse sites. Compilation and ranking of functional requirements in requirements specification. Production of request documents that were sent to 4 WMS suppliers. Collection and compilation of suppliers' responses and budget quotes. Examination of the economic conditions based on ROI and various investment calculations. Compilation and presentation of decision basis material.

2019 – AkkaFRAKT – Malmö 

Investigation for more efficient handling and utilization of areas as well as the number of ports and their location in the terminal. Analysis and calculation of freight flows and storage needs. Layout design. 3D visualization of solution proposals. Type of goods; Mixed.

2019 – GKN ePowertrain – Köping 

Preparation of decision material prior to planned reconstruction of crane warehouse (ASRS). Analysis and calculation of pallet flows to and from ASRS for use in simulation models. 3D flow simulation for analysis of the impact of reconstruction and new logic regarding maximum flow capacity without queuing. Development of threshold values for queue formation at different inflows and outflows. 3D visualization and animation. Type of goods; Car components on EUR pallets with 1-4 pallet collars.

2019 – DS Smith Packaging – Malmö 

Dimensioning and design of warehouse layout with material flows, processes and equipment before moving to a new warehouse building. Analysis and calculation of material flows and storage needs. 3D visualization of solution proposals. Type of goods; Corrugated cardboard products and accessories on 1-4 pallets.

2018–2019 – Network Logistics – Landskrona 

Analysis and calculation of material flows and storage needs. Dimensioning and design of new building for warehouse and production, placement of building on site and design of warehouse layout with material flows, processes and equipment. 3D visualization of solution proposals. Type of goods; Raw materials and packaging products on pallets.

2018 – Network Logistics – Helsingborg 

Analysis and calculation of material flows and resource needs in the distribution center. Design of a solution for setting up and picking goods from wagons and layout. 3D visualization of solution proposals. Type of goods; Trolleys with shelves for loose loaded plants or in troughs.

Magnus worked as a sub-consultant for Network Logistics. The end customer is one of the Nordic region's largest retail chains for indoor- and outdoor plants.

 2018 – Consafe Logistics – Lund

 A small assignment: Production of data for the customer to assess logic and reasonableness and the requirements for functionality and capacity in their WMS / WCS (Warehouse Management System / Warehouse Control System) prior to the end customer's automation plans. Calculation and analysis of 1.8 million pick rows in QlikView.

2018 - Network Logistics - Iggesund

Evaluation of various improvement suggestions in the customer's warehouse logistics. Collection, calculation and analysis of business data for the design of an alternative storage layout and the production of input data to the simulation model. 3D flow simulation to obtain resource needs in the form of staff and forklifts as well as bottleneck analysis.

Magnus worked as a subcontractor for Network Logistics. The end customer is one of Sweden's largest paper, pulp and wood companies.

2017-2018 - Thule Group - Huta Szklana, Poland

An expansion project of the customer's existing DC which Magnus had been part of dimensioning and designing a few years earlier. A needs analysis was conducted and also the dimensioning and design of a suitable solution that matches the identified needs. A few alternative solutions aiming at the most cost-effective internal logistics and highest storage capacity were designed and visualized with 3D layout programs. Flow simulation was performed to get a picture of the future needs of personnel and material handling equipment as well as the risk of queues.

The expansion will be completed in 2018 according to the results and plans of the project and will be in full operation in early 2019.

2017 - Network Logistics - Alvesta, Sweden

Design and evaluation of different improvement suggestions in the customers' warehouse logistics. Design of an alternative warehouse layout. 3D flow simulation for obtaining resource requirements, costs for staffing and equipment and bottle neck analysis.

 

Magnus worked as a sub consultant for Network Logistics. The end customer is a leading wholesales company within cars accessories on the Nordic market.

 

2017 - Network Logistics - Jönköping, Sweden

A short assignment: 3D-modelling and visualization of a warehouse building and design of an example layout.

2015-2016 - Green Cargo - Göteborg, Sweden

ÅF Partner project. Evaluation of an alternative terminal building for storing and reloading of paper rolls and paper pulp from wagons and trucks to 20/40 feet containers. Pre study and analysis of warehouse logistics and warehousing-needs. Design of warehouse layout. 3D flow simulation for obtaining resource requirements and costs of staffing and equipment. Cost/benefit analysis. Type of goods handled; Paper rolls, paper pulp and cardboard on pallets, 20/40 feet containers.

2014-2015 - Alfa Laval - Lund, Sweden

Pre study of the entire site logistics. CBA on a possible investment in a new central warehouse for components and the reallocation of some of the existing production and logistics units. Type of goods handled; Raw and input materials for the production of plate heat exchangers on and without pallets as well as complete PHEs.

 

2014 - IKEA Industry - Älmhult, Sweden

Test and verification of new production flow and equipment using 3D flow simulation. Type of goods handled; Input materials for furniture production on and without pallets.

 

2013-2014 - Bona - Limburg, Germany

Warehouse analysis with concrete improvement suggestions regarding warehouse layout, -processes, -system support and -equipment. Type of goods handled; Mainly pallets with products for floor maintenance.

 

2013-2014 - Thule Group - Huta Szklana, Poland

Analysis and calculation of storage needs. Dimensioning of new warehouse building, location on site and design of warehouse layout with material flow, processes and equipment. Evaluation of solution with 3D flow simulation. Type of goods handled; Mainly pallets with recreational equipment for cars.
Thule Group invested 65 million SEK in the new 10 000 sqm large distribution center that opened 2015-01-26.

2011-2012 - Hisab Joker Company - Varberg, Sweden

Pre study with analysis and calculation of storage needs. Dimensioning of new warehouse building, location on site and design of warehouse layout with material flow, processes and equipment. 3D modelling of warehouse building and layout. Type of goods handled; Pallets and cartons with jokes-, home brewing- and masquerade products.
The 5000 sqm warehouse were built during 2012 and opened January 2013.

 

2011 - Grene Sverige - Eslöv, Sweden

Pre study with analysis and calculation of storage needs. Dimensioning of expanded warehouse building, location on site and design of warehouse layout with material flow, processes and equipment. Evaluation of solution with resource needs using 3D flow simulation. Type of goods handled; Pallets with hardware and building specialty retail equipment.
Changes in layout, processes and equipment were made and the added 3000 sqm warehouse were built and opened in the spring of 2012.

 

2010-2011 - DS Smith Packaging Sweden (former SCA) - Värnamo, Sweden

Dimensioning of expanded warehouse building, location on site and design of warehouse layout with material flow, processes and equipment. Evaluation of alternative solutions with resource needs using 3D flow simulation. Type of goods handled; Mainly pallets with cardboard packages.
Changes in layout, processes and equipment were made and the designed additional 3500 sqm warehouse were build in 2012.

 

2010-2011 - Rema 1000 - Narvik and Trondheim, Norway

Design of warehouse layouts for both sites with material flow, processes and equipment. Evaluation of alternative solutions with 3D flow simulation. Type of goods handled; Pallets with FMCG.
The customer have made investments and changes according to the results/recommendations.

Storage need analysis after a possible merge of two existing warehouses. Sizing and design of a new central warehouse including layout with material flow, processes, equipment and investments. Test, evaluation and comparison between automatically alternative with stacker cranes and entirely manually alternative using 3D flow simulation. Type of goods handled; Mainly pallets with cardboard packages.
The customer used the resulting decision making basis in an internal CBA and decided not to proceed.
